When designing the 35 Years of Mathematica logo, I wanted to make it more visually interesting than just stacking everything inline. Offsetting the 5 balanced out the red Mathematica logo and also allowed the space needed to stylize the remaining text as a callback to the 30 Years of Mathematica logo.
